Individual Psychotherapy

Many of the people I work with come to therapy wanting to examine the areas where they feel blocked, fearful, or even lost to themselves. Often, it is the very coping mechanisms that have gotten us through hard times that become habits that hold us back. By showing up with curiosity and a collaborative spirit, we can be both honest and compassionate with how we hold ourselves back and then make more room to be who we truly are.

The relationship between therapist and client is one of the most important aspects of therapy. Ideally, there is a level of trust and comfort so that we can really get to know our inner emotional landscape, every valley and peak included. So how do we know if we might be a good fit?

I enjoy working with individuals who want to feel all the feelings. While you may have been struggling for a long time, you are ready to examine the life you’re living, get curious about patterns you used to take for granted, and pause in moments of discomfort to wonder what it means to be you. Whether you have only just heard of somatics or your life is centered around the body, you want therapy that weaves together talking, pausing in mindfulness and connecting with sensations. You may question the systems around you, and wonder about different patterns you might be holding. You may have a reverence for the mysterious, esoteric and dreamlike, while also working to stay grounded in the here and now. You want to feel both empowered and humbled and are happy to hang out with the questions maybe even more than the answers.
